
Representatives of the Academic Council of the Humanitarian University of Trade Unions, as well as personally the rector of the University, Alexander Sergeyevich Zapesotsky, sent an official letter to Thomas Noll inviting him to give a lecture for students and graduates of the university, thereby supporting the University’s long tradition of attracting famous Russian and foreign figures to perform before the university the audience.
More than 100 students, graduates and teachers of the University enthusiastically listened to Thomas’s lecture “Successful Careers in the International Hospitality Industry: Recommendations for Future Managers”, in which the main milestones of Thomas’s international career development were touched upon, with special emphasis on his Russian 11-year work experience; key characteristics and qualities necessary for future managers to succeed; Thomas’s general view on the state of the tourism sector in the Russian Federation as a whole, as well as the recommendations of the legendary hotelier on improving the tourist attractiveness of St. Petersburg in particular.
The lecture was warmly received by the audience and raised a number of interesting questions, to which Thomas was glad to provide comprehensive answers.
