Thomas was recruited for an impossible task to complete in a record time the Mountain resort Gorky Gorod and prepare all pre-opening activities for all appointed operators for 10 Hotels, 3000 appartments, a Shopping Centre complex with Aqua park, the Media Centre and 47 restaurants. Most hotels and appartments were on level 540m, on level 960m mainly 5 star hotels were located and on level 2200, a restaurant on the mountain top was opened.
Thomas recruited within the first week a strong and capable management team that was expanded to more then 100 managers within 3 months. Following key tasks were carried out under the direction of Thomas:
- With the team the recruitment of 3000 employees
- FF & E procurement in the value of 80 Million Euros
- Technical Assistance in regards to all hotel specific and brand specific standards to the Main Contractor
- Marketing Plan was prepared for Post Olympics
- Central Kitchen was planned to supply all sports venues and all hotel and restaurant kitchens with catering services
- Solutions and management for staff accommodation for 3000 employees
- Transport infrastructure was planned and all logistics for the arrival of visitors in very high volumes
- All Administrative procedures in regards to work permits, and all operational and legal licenses and documents
- Facilitated the start up for all international brands such as Swissotel, Marriott, Interstate etc.
