At a previous time I was accommodated at the historic “Greta Garbo” Suite, and this time in October 2012, I got by surprise an upgrade to the Terrace Suite. So having checked in, being guided to the suite by an attractive, young ambassador of the hotel who not only explained in details all that we needed to know about the hotel, but also gave us great restaurant recommendations and more, we were delighted with the most delicious 2 tier tray petit four display, fresh fruits and Veuve Cliqout amenity.
Having a sunny afternoon, we could not wait any longer to enjoy our welcome amenity on the very spacious terrace of our suite, overlooking the historic part of Hamburg and the lake with beautiful fountains.
The Suite is decorated in a very pleasant way that makes you feel like your home away from home. In fact we admitted, that “here we could live” – which is the best statement for any hotel suite. The decor in the entire hotel was very tasteful and resembled the autumn spirit. The breakfast is one of the best I had in a long time, and I compared it to the Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris with it’s elegance and grandeur. So in brief, I compliment Mr. Peter’s on his great hotel, his professional team members and to let his customers feel like they are truly welcome and can experience hospitality at it’s best.
My recommendation for Hamburg is to book a Terrace Suite at the Fairmont and if the budget does not allow, than at least a Lake-view Room».
